( TLC's Soap and Sundries Making Supplies) Basic 5 oil recipe #4 Log Mold 4 oz. Castor Oil 8 oz. Coconut Oil 12 oz. Olive Oil 16 oz. Lard, Palm or Tallow 12 oz. Shortening 7.00 oz. Sodium Hydroxide (lye) approx. 6% superfatted 17 oz. water or split by using 1/2 milk and 1/2 water adding the lye only to the water phase of the process. Use basic soapmaking instructions for making soap.Click to go to instructions. Basic 5 oil recipe 2 lb. oil batch or approx 2 1/2 lbs. of finished soap 2 oz. Castor Oil 6 oz. Coconut Oil 8 oz. Olive Oil 8 oz. Shortening (like Crisco or a store brand) 8 oz. Tallow, Lard or Palm 4.40 oz. Lye (about 5% superfat) 12 oz water or split by using 1/2 milk and 1/2 water adding the lye only to the water phase of the process.
