Castile Type Soaps If you are new to making soap, please take time to read (Soapmaking Equipment and Instructions) Click to go to instructions. This will help you know the equipment needed to make your soap and how you can make this wonderful healthful soap for your family and friends. If you are in need of oils to make your first soap or would like to order our Soapmaking Kit, you can find them and many other supplies listed here on our site. ( TLC's Soap and Sundries Making Supplies) The formulas listed below are mostly 50% Olive Oil and that is why I call them "Castile Type" because they are not 100% Olive which is a True Castile soap. There are some soaps made with just Coconut Oil, Hemp Oil and even Almond Oil that are called Castile soap, but for histories sake, it is not. Soaps made with this a lot of Olive Oil in them are wonderful for the skin and are for the most part are preferred by those with sensitive skin issues. When you process these you will find they will take a bit longer than a formula with much less Olive Oil in them. That is just a normal reaction when making a soap with a lot of Olive Oil. I hope you find them helpful. #2 Log Mold TLC Castile (Type) w/ Beeswax 1 oz. Beeswax (white or yellow) 2 oz. Castor Oil 2 oz. Coconut Oil 2 oz. Palm Kernel 14 oz. Olive Oil 7 oz. Shortening 3.55 oz.
