Lemon/Ginger Soap If you are new to making soap, please take time to read (Soapmaking Equipment and Instructions) Click to go to instructions. (TLC's Soap and Sundries Making Supplies) Lemon/Ginger Soap Formula Fits #5 Log Mold 20 oz. Palm Kernel 20 oz. Olive Oil 20 oz. Tallow 8 oz Lemon Juice (fresh squeezed is best) 12 oz Distilled Water 8.50 Lye (approx 7% superfatted) 1 Tbsp or so of fresh Lemon Rind 1 tsp of powdered Ginger 2 tsp or a bit more Vitamin E added at light trace 3 Tbsp Lemon EO (optional) 1 tsp Ginger EO (optional) Add the lye to the water and stir till dissolved. Set aside to cool, can use an ice bath in the sink if you like to cool it faster. Melt oils together and add the Rind and Ginger powder while they are melting and cool to about 120 or so. Add the lye water to the oils and stir in then add the Lemon Juice. Process till trace. Add the EO's if you like. Without the EO's it will still have a mild fresh fragrance.
