TLC GM Body or Shampoo Bar
3 lbs. oil batch
(approx 4 lbs. finished soap)

16 oz. Olive Oil
12 oz. Shortening
12 oz. Lard, Palm Oil or Tallow
4 oz. Castor Oil
4 oz. Coconut Oil

6.35 oz. Sodium Hydroxide (lye) (about 5% superfat) OR
6.25 oz. Sodium Hydroxide (lye) (about 7% superfat)

16 oz distilled water or split by using 1/2 milk and 1/2 water adding the lye only to the water phase of the process.

This is just a basic recipe that I have used for my Shampoo Bars, but can be used as a great body bar too. If you want to make it without superfatting and add a bit of Emu or Jojoba Oils at trace, you can recalculate for that too. I like to infuse herbs into the Olive Oil like, Chamomile, Lavender, Calendula, etc. and use EO's for fragrance. Also make teas with the herbs to boost the healing powers and add Vitamin E for the helpfullness it gives to the skin. Take a look at the page for infusing herbs.
