Smooth Lip Balm #2

2 oz. Cocoa Butter
2 oz. Shea Butter
1 oz. Sweet Almond Oil
1 oz. Evening Primrose
1 oz. Jojoba
1 oz. Meadowfoam Oil
2 oz. Beeswax or Candelilla or 1/2 and 1/2
Vitamin E …3 1000 I.U. squeezed capsules or 1/2 tsp. Liquid
20 to 25 drops your choice Essential Oil or Flavoring Oil (you may use a bit more)

If you wish to add Honey, only use a tsp. or so and use a 1/2 tsp. or so of Emulsifying Wax to help it incorporate well. This will be placed in the oils to melt it and then stir in the Honey. This will be just an addition to the formula that you choose to use, all other ingredients will stay the same in the formulas.

The suggestion of Beeswax or Candelilla or both is because Candelilla has a higher melting point than Beeswax and is also slicker on the lips. Beeswax melts at about 150° and Candelilla melts at about 165°. And Candelilla is a plant wax and can be used where Beeswax is not wanted.

Melt all oils, butter and beeswax together in a double boiler, stirring frequently with a heat resistant spatula. Take from heat and let cool a bit by stirring constantly, till you see the mixture getting a little cloudy. Then add your Essential Oil or Flavoring Oil, stir in well and pour into Lip Balm Pots or Tubes. Enjoy!!
